Happy Hour with DreamChamps and Vodori

We kicked off our relationship with DreamChamps last week by popping a few bottles and taking in the great culture at Vodori, a full-service digital agency in Lincoln Park.  What better way for our video team to capture the culture than during happy hour.

After interviewing five “Vodorians,” we moved out to shoot the office and the happy hour festivities. Nothing better than a brew at 4:00 on a Friday while getting video of healthy competition of darts and ping-pong.

Shooting video in offices is a challenge. First, there are a ton of windows, so you have to be careful of backlighting, meaning your foreground subject looks like a silhouette.  That was almost impossible to avoid at Vodori, we’ll live. Next, I love to have some fun when I shoot and I want those we are shooting to be comfortable as well.  I try to joke around with people so they don’t tense up when we shoot video of them doing their job. Just make it look like you’re having fun. Finally, it’s an office, there’s only so much you can shoot. There isn’t a whole lot of action.  So we make the action with camera movements and varying our shots.

Overall, a great shoot. I love working with Jenn and Jill from DreamChamps and DietzMedia is looking forward to more shoots with them in the future.
